About
About the Author, Susan D. Powers:
Susan’s mother was a poet, and her father an entrepreneur. As a writer and a coach, Susan captures both these qualities from her parents. She’s heard it said, “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” This is an understatement, according to Susan!
Having worked 25 years in state service, it wasn’t until 2009, when Susan put pen to paper, that the magic started to happen! Suddenly, out of portals and fairy realms, a wood nymph named Hatigore and a sweet-hearted fairy named Mable, “with lots of potential,” met Susan’s acquaintance. Later, it was a little boy named Gilbert and his dog Pickles. And recently, a sad, insecure delivery box named Charlie and his fun-loving little girl Sophie introduced themselves.
Now a children’s book author, Susan is also a life coach. She loves watching people courageously step into the dreams they are creating. She has the best of both worlds—the world of imagination, from which she writes, and the coaching world, in which she helps others live life to the fullest!
Fun Fact:
“The best part of unwrapped Christmas gifts was the boxes they came in! Every year when Christmas was finished, my younger brother and I would leave our gifts behind, grab those boxes, and rush to the highest hill we could find, along with the rest of the neighborhood kids, and race down muddy hillsides to the finish line. Honestly, I believe Charlie Box was with me even way back then.” —Susan
